What is your favourite KD recipe and story?

I like taking pork chops, rolling the edges in coarse black pepper and grilling them. Then, cut the chops into bite sized pieces and add to Extra Creamy KD. It’s super simple but the cheese sauce with the pepper… out of this world.

One time when my hubby and I were moving my aunt and mom were unpacking the kitchen in the new place. They happened upon a box FILLED with Kraft Dinner. My mom ended up coming up to me, handing me $50 thinking that we were broke so all we could afford to eat was Kraft Dinner. Well actually, it had been on sale (and they were giving away free movies in the box) so we had bought 4 x 12 packs of KD. We really do like KD but no, we weren’t eating it every day. I did keep the $50 though!

I am having grilled teriyaki pork chops, roasted corn on the cob, and pickled summer squash(tastes just like pickled peaches). I am also having some fresh lemon-mint tea with fresh mint from my garden. For dessert I made 2 Lemon Chess pies from a recipe a lady gave me at Yahoo!Answers. Wish I had someone to invite over but I don’t.

I love new recipes. Tonight I am making Pork Loin CHops I always make them the same way - I grill them Stove top and add seasonings …. just wondering if there were any ways to spruce it up a bit.

Also I always seem to do the same side dishes …. potatos boiled, mashed or baked, or rice …. and veggies.

What else can I do to wow - our plates tonight.
Something simple and easy - and YUM!

I’m in a slump of cooking the same foods within a 2 week time period. I prefer making what I can homemade. Here are the usuals: Fried, grilled or baked (in cream of mush soup) pork chops, HOMEMADE spaghetti (the sauce) with store-bought but fresh refrigerated noodles (so much better and only take 2 min to boil!) Hamburger gravy over mashed potatoes, chicken stir-fry, beef barley soup, homemade chicken noodle, homemade chicken fettucine alfredo, I also have to cook alot of traditional mexican foods since my b/f is hispanic… I don’t need any taco recipes! lol. I love Greek food-gyros-stuffed grape leaves, hummus and pita & tabouli. I love seafood(scallops, shrimp, cod, halibut, salmon, tilapia) but I don’t cook too much fish
I’m hoping I can get some yummy recipes-not so much casseroles please!! More like homemade things(ie: chicken fried steak, beef tri tips…etc)
I’m on a budget so nothing too fancy or with 100 diff ingredients.

I want to impress my live-in boyfriend and cook him something good. (the last time I tried to cook for him was a disaster and he hasn’t let me cook since) I don’t really know any recipes or good meals though because I grew up in a single parent home and my mom worked all the time so we never really had family dinners because she never had time to cook. I pretty much had macaroni, chicken on the george foreman grill, grilled cheese, cereal, ramen soup, pb&j, or some variation of the previously mentioned foods every day of my life growing up.
Another problem with cooking is that we are both pretty picky.
Recipes can’t have any of these in it:

eggs
any beans but kidney beans
spicy things
spaghetti
alfredo
ham
pork chops
vegetables other than corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, and sundried tomatoes
steak

and I’m so sick of chinese, pizza, and BBQ because that’s all we’ve been having lately.
PLEASE give me some good recipes. =D
